OK, here it is.
I gotta tell ya, I wasn't impressed.
They've merged the story mode and GM mode into "24/7" with daily tasks that you need to do to keep your skills sharp and such. The story mode consists primarily of text messages sent to you--some with audio--and near as I could tell does not differ from brand to brand.
Also there's still very few guys who you can use in that mode. (Including no CM Punk, boooo. Plus no Lashley or Umaga) This would make more sense if they had more cut scenes with audio but they actually have LESS now with this new crackheaded 24/7 mode.
And the AI is just goofy. Tried a Money in the Bank match, and after 30 minutes it showed no sign of ending anytime soon. Meanwhile, my guy was so beaten down he could get off the mat once every 2 minutes or so.
They've also switched to "fighting styles", except you have to build momentum to start really using that style. And a lot of the guys have the same basic, truncated moveset. Which leads to repetitive, tedious matches.
So I guess in that way it's a lot like watching Raw or Smackdown.
For my money, Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain remains the best WWE game because season stats and such carry over from season to season, you can play as anyone in the game in said seasons and actually build guys up over time from jobbers to stars, and they remain at that level.
So yeah, if any wrestling fans here plan on buying the game, Buyer Beware.

I don't remember seeing any other WWE game that had the AWESOME season mode that Smackdown 2: Know Your Role had. Seriously, a multiplayer season mode that can go to infinity plus you can switch the wrestlers to compete for any title you want + making and breaking stables as you wish. Honestly, I wonder why they didn't include this in the subsequent versions of the Smackdown series.

I bought it off the Gamestop website. Was $20 plus shipping.
The roster contains over 500 playable wrestlers with unique movesets and realistic AI, and 312 blank spots for custom wrestlers. Everything is editable too. Rings, referees, wrestlers, everything
