Local English booker, TJ Phillipson created WiW in February 2007 and succesfully crowned a WiW Champion on May 21st 2007. However, the promotion was shut down prior to the second pay-per-view and since then, everybody has seemingly vanished. No remembrance of WiW has been found and nobody has ever referred to it since. Until now, on 12th February 2008, one year after the announcement of WiW opening, World Independent Wrestling will start again. On March 30th, while everybody is buzzing for WrestleMania 24, the independent stars will come out and play, in a sixteen man tournament for the WiW Heavyweight Championship! Card actually looks pretty decent. I've had a Rhino/Burchall match before, good chemistry.

Posted by: TJ Phillipson, Today at: 16:56 GMT On Saturday 23rd February, you will all get a tiny taste of the future of independent wrestling! Because on this night, WiW TV will debut right when you're settling down for your tea. You will see four matches that will rock your world! To start, you have the former Billy Kidman from the WWE, Peter Gruner going head-to-head with another WWE alumni, Japanese star, TAKA Michinoku. And that, my friends is a sneak peak. Then you will see a battle for the name 'Pac' as the former X-Pac, Syxx will go one-on-one with the successor of the name, the man they call PAC. After that, you will experience a full on pure wrestling bout as two old school English wrestlers will fight in a fifteen minute time limit as 'The Anarchist' Doug Williams will face the monster, Paul Burchill. Finally, it will be time for your main event as the first qualifying match of the WiW Heavyweight Championship will take place as Steve Corino will face fellow ECW alumni, Jerry Lynn! That along with so much more as WiW continues to tour the great United Kingdom.
But is that it? Oh hell no, on WiW's showcase match on WF:TV, Pickaroo, Samoa Joe and Rob Van Dam will compete. And that match will be filmed but not aired on WiW TV #1!
It all breaks down to World Independent Wrestling live on TV!
