From the office of Mark Cuban:
Regarding the results of the Charlottesville Wrestling Federation draft… Curt Hennig has filed a protest of his selection by Rowdy Roddy Piper. However, the initial rules of the draft dictated that everyone was eligible to be drafted—including those doing the drafting. My legal team has assured me that Hennig’s protest has no basis, and his selection to the Adrenaline roster stands.
Henceforth, any championships acquired during the course of the draft are the property of those shows and should be treated as such. For example, the World Tag Titles are now the Mayhem Tag Titles. The United States Tag Titles are the Adrenaline Tag Titles.
There is other news that affects every CWF competitor.
The CWF has never been afraid to experiment and take risks, borrowing from a variety of influences—be it the world of business, major federations or an old-school territory.
Now, we’re taking inspiration from a league with one of the most rabid fan followings in all of sport. The English Premier League.
In this league, considered the finest in all of soccer, the teams at the bottom of the standings are “relegated”, or bumped down, to the next-lowest league. In return, the top teams from that lower league earn automatic spots in the EPL.
The CWF will incorporate this relegation format, effective immediately!
In a system that went into effect with last week's episode of SMW TV, the CWF and SMW will operate under a power points system.
The history of the company will be divided into seasons, with each season ending at WrestleMania.
After WrestleMania, the top two individuals in SMW’s power points standings will earn an automatic call-up to the CWF. The remaining SMW competitors will compete in a tag team tournament. The winning team also will receive CWF contracts.
Meanwhile, the bottom two competitors on both CWF shows, Mayhem and Adrenaline, will be relegated to SMW.
The explanation of the power points system is listed below.
In addition, after WrestleMania, a lottery will be held. All wrestlers and personnel are open to be selected, and will be assigned to the competing show in a five-round blind draw. Champions are NOT immune at this event.
Thanks for the time, enjoy Redemption and keep watching all the excellent programming that the CWF and its developmental territory, Smoky Mountain, have to offer!
