So I gave some of you false spoilers to swerve you all while I was working on what is turning into my favorite idea for a series yet....
Here's a back story on WCW. WCW in the 80's was of course, the NWA as we all know. I don't need to get into their history for you. But the point I want to emphasize is Ted Turner's involvement. Ted Turner purchased the NWA, renamed it WCW, and took the company global in an attempt to compete with the WWF and Vince McMahon.
In 1993, a big feat when WCW is finally able to lure Ric Flair back from the WWF. WCW gets their icon back, but still has a long way to go.
1994 was indeed a hot year. It started out with a solid CLASH of the CHAMPIONS which set the stage for SUPERBRAWL IV. From there, two of the most popular and sought after pay per view events among tape traders, SPRING STAMPEDE 1994 and SLAMBOREE 1994. Both featured wild matches involving Dustin Rhodes vs Bunkhouse Buck, as well as wild tag team matches from the Cactus Jack/Kevin Sullivan/Maxx Payne vs Nasty Boys feud. Slamboree also saw Terry Funk return to WCW to the delight of the Philly crowd.
HERE are the results for those cards...
