It's way overdue, Tenn, for that review, so since I have some time to kill before going to bed, I'm gonna send you my thoughts on your show:
- I am SO digging O'Haire and Diamond, paired with T-Lo as the manager. I always liked the combo of scientific wrestling/powerhouses so you had me from the getgo. The possibility of seeing them feud with the Rock N' Roll Express excites me a lot. Can't wait to see what you're gonna pull off!
-That Nova vs Doug Basham match had an OVW feel for me, more than an SMW feel. I wasn't expecting Nova to win this quick and to be quite honest, I don't know what to think of it. My first thought is that Basham probably will be a jobber but I could be wrong....
-You probably won't be shocked if I tell you that La Parka vs Super Crazy was my favourite match of the show. This was a good mix of what we could see in WCW in their prime years and the undercard bouts in ECW. Really good pace, great commentary (Cyrus is GOLD) - chemistry between Cyrus and Hudson is much better than I was anticipating. I hope that this Lucha Libre Showdown will become a regular thing in your series 'cause this could give us awesome segments every show.
-Main event was pretty short but it definitely came across the point on how to introduce Leviathan as that indestructible character. For someone like me who didn't have the opportunity to see Batista's days as Leviathan, it has given me a good idea of how he was booked back in OVW. I won't go as far as saying that Bossman and Leviathan are an odd pairing but since Bossman always had that bully sort of gimmick when he was heel, I can see this alliance work for now.
-As I probably told you shortly after you posted the show, I really marked out on that Scorpio/Shelton beatdown on Steve Corino. It is very nice to see somebody go completely the opposite way as the obvious would've been to book Corino as the heel cocky champion and Scorpio as the fierce and determined #1 contender, with Shelton doing Corino's dirty work or simply being Corino's pupil. I am really looking forward to that Corino vs Scorpio as you took a Dusty finish and made it the focal point of Scorpio's turn.
All in all, a very solid effort for this SMW show. I will be reading the next episode for sure!
