The opening video was kinda meh. This is a PPV! The opener should be amazing, set the tone for the entire even. This just seemed like Collision with a lead in to different commentary. Definitely something to work on for the next PPV.
Nice back and forth match between Regal and Dinsmore, but it definitely lacked a certain something that I can’t put my finger on. It was almost TOO fast paced. Regal rarely wrestles a fast paced brawl style, instead choosing to target one body part and just beat the sh*t out of it. Dinsmore works a similar style when he’s not on Raw screaming about being SPESHO!!! Keep that in mind for future reference.
Have you ever considered weeding out some championships? One thing I find with ICW is that there’s too many championships. Television, European, Intercontinental, Hardcore, Ultimate Xtreme, Tag Team, and World. The Television and European basicly accomplish the same thing. I always thought the UX title was a Cruiserweight title, but not it’s seeming more like TNA’s X Division title (not about weight limits, but NO LIMITS~! Thank you Mike Tenay for saying that about 2000 times..) Perhaps you should consider changing up the titles. Not every feud has to be over a title.
The Gibson interview was okay, but change it up more. Instead of having Gibson say big words like championship, say belt or strap. He’s a modern age hillbilly, let him speak as such. You were on the right path with dropping the g’s on ing’s
Another thing that bothers me, is only about half the roster have actual themes. Taz has War Machine, but Homicide just has a random generic theme? For shame..
Taz is working the back. I like that you finally decided to work one body part and keep with it. Now we just gotta work on working the RIGHT body part. Taz’s big finish is the Tazmission, working the neck. It’d make a little bit more sense for Taz to be going for a lot of “drop you on your head” moves, maybe even some kicks to the neck. But hey, I’m not knocking that you are finally working some psychology into your matches.
GHETTO FORK!!! Taz is about to get fork’ed up!! Nice little bit, having Homicide use the fork. Realistic.
The choke out victory for Taz is okay, but really abrupt. I would have liked to see Homicide break the Tazmission, honestly.
Gibson/Angle was a pretty good match. I like the post match, with Gibson turning on Heyman. Is this a face Gibson we’re looking at?
Too many debuts in the battle royal..
Lawler’s random just laughs are annoying..
Sandman & Dreamer winning is kinda meh. I was expecting the Dudleys to win, to continue the feud between the Dudleys and the Impact Players.
Ladder match.. It wasn’t particularly BAD, and it did have some cool spots, but the spots lacked drama. They lacked the build up to the big spots and that’s what hurt. Instead of just having these guys beat each other senseless with the ladders from the opening bell, tease the ladder shots. Do some hit and miss sequences with the ladder/s. That said, Heenan’s botched NJ at the end is golden. *Insane in da brian*
Coach with the wrong coke for RVD! I don’t like Coach.
RVD-Edge was okay, but really lacked the buzz. I honestly don’t even remember any build for this match.. It also lacked that certain something to make it extra special. Not sure what though. Needed something to push it that extra edge.
Okay, here is where you go totally unrealistic. Test cut a decent promo! Ignore reality why don’t you..
Albert botched.. He forgot to say door.. “Albert: It’s that. Go…. GO!”
Test and Cena was okay. Decent, but not much more could be expected out of those two.
Really, not a bad show, but it lacked a PPV feel, to be honest. This came right from the opening video and continued through. Stuff like two or three backstage segments in a row were just kind of annoying. Taz and Homicide was definitely the best match for the show, best written. Seems like the most thought was put into it.
