Alright, long time no view for WWFF. Excuse my ignorance if I’m not too fresh on storylines. I smoke weed and get hit in the head a lot.
I like your formatting change, right off the bat. The bolded header for stuff like the Cena segment looks nice and is a nice throwback to the BOOK site. If only we had a site like that now, a site made after BOOK died. And if only we had someone to promise such a site, with delusions of grandeur.. If only… I digress.
I don’t like the use of the gimmick matches. Not that quickly. Granted, while there was some build, it seems rather thrown together that it was just randomly a last man standing match. I would have liked to have seen, say, someone getting KO’d with a chair or something. I’m one of the worst about NOT doing it, but I like stipulations to really mean something within the feud. Say the feud blow off is an I Quit match, it’s great to blow that off on a feud where to guys just straight refuse to submit. A blood feud blowing off with a First Blood match. A match over who gets to impregnate Torrie Wilson blowing off with a Viagra on a Pole match.. So on. So to say I think it’s a little anti climactic for a last man standing match to just be announced is an understatement. Likewise with the street fight, how it’s just used for no reason. Again, I’m one of the worst to speak on something like this, but it just sort of seems like a stip match for the sake of a stip match.
I don’t like the @$$ censorship. Censorship is downright blasphemes, especially in a Rock promo. You can say ass on even local daytime TV now.. What channel and time is WWFF on where ass gets bleeped?
Rock’s promo was all over the place and seemed to just be trying to get every catchphrase in.
Honestly, I like the way JR and King just sort of pipe in whenever something important is going on. It cuts down on some of the silly babble and insider references that we all love so much, but sometimes deter from the action.
I see Dudleys versus Hardys versus RVD & Sabu in TLC at the PPV happening.. If it’s already announced, forgive me.. If it isn’t announced, nice feud hype and great way to make the stipulation mean something..
Rikishi in a ladder match just seems silly.. And a ladder match on the same card as a TLC match seems like overkill, especially with six men in both matches. Only so many crazy flippy dippy spots that can be done..
One thing I’d suggest, and it’s glaringly missing in the Taz-Godfather introductions, are weights and hometowns. It’d really help and add a level of authenticity to the show. With a roster like your’s, that type of information shouldn’t be too hard to find.
Taz-Godfather was a pretty good match, that made Taz look really strong going into the match with Taker. The bit with Taker and the Druid and Alfonzo was done really well, although I suspect that the druid would look awfully tiny unless Fonzie had some sort of padding with the druid costume.
And we get a mini-angle inside the big angle of Taker-Taz with Sabu-Taz, excellent!
HAHAHA! I love how you had Mr. Fuji. Great stereotypical Asian dialog with the dropping of the “A” for “we have deal”. I legit chuckled.
I liked the handicap match a lot. It makes Bret look like a strong baby face, being able to prevail through the team of heels, even if because of the heels being dimwits and accidentally kicking each other.
Rock-Shane was a war and a great one at that. In my opinion, this match should have finished the show, because, especially for TV, nothing can top it.
The contract signing was decent, but was definitely over shadowed by the great Rock-Shane match. As a personal opinion, I think Hogan should have went for the big boot when Austin was coming running in, even if Austin put on the breaks, then Hogan attacked him for the brawl to ensue. Personal opinion.
Overall, this was a really solid show and a great go-home to the PPV. A lot of what you do is really solid. I’d just say that some things need tweaked and cleaned up. One thing I suggest would be going to play by play matches, adding commentary after every chain of spots or every highspot. King and JR just sort of seem to hop in at random points. I’d also suggest finding hometowns and weights for your roster. But overall, really solid.
