Review for CWF Mayhem Pay Per View: Redemption
Card looks great… cannot wait to read all of these matches, Tenn!
Great opening with the kid in confession, Tenn. Pretty bad ass.
Match: Kurt Angle vs. Dean Malenko
I loved, loved, loved this opening match. I was rooting hard for Malenko to win, especially after reading his comments on the pre-show. The match itself was awesome, lot of near falls. It looked like Malenko was going to be the sure winner of this match but I guess it was not his night. I loved how Angle ended up winning the match... it suits his heel character so well and also continues his ‘never pinned’ streak. Excellent opening match.
Nice promo from Van Dam…
Match: Rob Van Dam vs.
William Regal as the mystery opponent is pretty awesome. The match itself was really good, I loved how it flowed. Regal plays such an awesome heel in real life and I think you captured his style and attitude extremely well. Of course, I was rooting for Van Dam but I liked how Regal won the match with the nasty heel tactics. Gotta love his brass knucks. Decent match, brother. The ending of the match was almost more entertaining than the match itself! I am a huge Taz mark so I am pumped he is now a member of CWF. Davey Boy vs. Taz!?!? Right now!?!?!? Gotta love the special attraction matches!
Match: Davey Boy Smith vs. Taz
Awesome that Taz gets the win with the Tazmission. There will definitely be a match between the two soon enough.
Ha Lash taking Davey Boy’s spot in the Gauntlet…
Match: Intercontinental Championship Gauntlet
The entire Gauntlet was really put together well. I loved how two giants like Big Show and Haku start the Gauntlet off. It looks like Big Show was going to dominate after defeating Haku and Lash but The Road Dog does some heavy damage (while eliminating himself in the process) in order to allow Billy Gunn to pick up the pin and eliminate The Big Show… but Ken Shamrock eventually beats Gunn to become the Intercontinental Champion. Pretty damn awesome match there, perfectly put together.
Well at least Davey Boy and Regal have a cooler name than ‘The British Bulldogs’…
Match: Six-Man Mayhem
Oh man what can I say about this match. Very fast paced, lot’s of excitement. The ending of the match was quiet a shocker as ‘Super Calo’ un-masks only to reveal the sneak Justin Credible! What an awesome way to debut Credible, bro. Looks like Chavo Guerrero Sr. has a crisis on his hands…
OOO the debut of Vince’s daughter, Stephanie!
Goldust with a bizarre promo as always… and pays for it as a pissed of Big Show nearly kills him! The Outlaws better not show up on Mayhem…
Looks like we can be expecting some great future Cruiserweight matches. Eddie vs. Credible is an obvious must…
Match: North American Tag Team Championship Three Way Dance
I really digged this match, Tenn. Lots of great action and I am very happy Hostile Takeover where the first team eliminated. I was pulling for Test and Hakushi and they eventually retain their straps. Looks like a D’Lo vs. Mark Henry feud may be coming up. Excellent match though, buddy.
Really amusing Kurt Angle segment…
Match: Kurt Angle vs. Rob Van Dam
Wow what a match, Tenn. Probably my favorite of the night for several reasons. One reason was that it was a greatly put together match. Lots of excitement and I loved how Angle and Van Dam combined their styles. Second reason was that I love Van Dam. I love Angle, don’t get me wrong… but I like RVD a bit more. I’m really excited for RVD and winning this tournament is something that may possibly elevate him to better things.
Nice plug for Windy City Wrestling!
Match: Sabu vs. Chris Benoit
WOAH! MATCH OF THE FUCKING NIGHT, TENN! What a total, shocking swerve. I cannot believe Benoit joined up with Vince and Sabu! But I simply cannot believe that TAZ shows up and WINS the World Championship! HOLY SHIT! I am so psyched. What a mind blowing debut for Taz… my God.
Tenn, I give you a standing ovation for the entire pay per view. The main event was simply spectacular. As a young booker, as someone who looks up to you, I was simply blown away. Amazing show. 10/10
