When John Morrison and The Miz first teamed together they were reluctant. They were adversaries. Morrison was in the trying to regain his ECW Championship from then Champion CM Punk while The Miz was looking to make a name for himself. When the two paired up against WWE Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy and MVP, who were also rivals, no one thought they could co-exist. After a knee injury to Matt Hardy early on in the match Morrison took advantage and won the titles. MVP then declared they wanted a re-match on the spot and after refusing to tag to the injured Hardy they fell again and The Miz and Morrison became the WWE Tag Team Champions. These two were also apart of a Triple Threat match at Survivor Series along with CM Punk for the ECW Title. Punk came away the winner and the two focused on the Tag Team divison. Suprisingly they were able to work together and eventually became a cohesive unit making numerous title defenses as well as a rivalry with Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore. The team became unstoppable and seemed poised to break Paul London and Spanky's record of 331 days as Tag Champions. Enter William Regal. When Regal was appointed GM of ECW he made changes. The Smackdown/ECW working agreement was nixed and they were stripped of the tag titles, only to be awarded the ECW Tag Titles. Morrison and Miz have become the front runners in the new and developing tag team division, and the don't even like each other! Moore and Yang have a tag title shot at the 2/19 show and this one promises to the steal the show as have all of their matches together, but can a one-on-one tag match be enough? We seen numerous bouts and both teams have traded wins and losses. We even saw a first ever tag team version of the 15 Minutes of Fame match, where the team with the most victories in 15 minutes were the champs, go to a draw at 1 apiece. On 2/5 John Morrison went 1-on-1 against Shannon Moore and was able to squeeze a victory against "The Reject" and then the teams began brawling. Miz and Morrison have also joined the "Regal Regime" and now have the boss on their side. Morrison had this to say,
"Yang and Moore are a joke! The Miz may be a moron and I damn sure don't like him but when we tag together there's no doubt we get it done in the ring. Moore and Yang got lucky when they beat us, and they never won when it mattered. Come February 19th the belts are on the line and they better bring their "A" game."
Not only are Yang and Moore nipping at the heels of the champs, Paul London and Spanky, who held the WWE Tag Titles for a record 331 days, are also making waves for the belts. After a sound victory over ECW Originals Little Guido and Stevie Richards the take on The Stampede Bulldogs on 2/12 and have not been shy in their aspirations.
"We're coming for the belts end of story. We were the longest reigning tag team champions on Smackdown and we're about to be the longest reigning on ECW, once we get our title match," said London.
"We don't care who has the belts, whether it be Miz and Morrison or Yang and Moore, we'll be champions and that's a guarantee," retorted a more serious than usual Spanky.
Could Miz and Morrison's days as champs be coming to an end? They were dominant on Smackdown but now they are forced to "start over" as ECW tag champions. Could Yang and Moore unseat an almost unstoppable reign? Or will Miz and Morrison prove their dominance to the ECW faithful?
